Ministry at Ablaze: Middle school Ignite at St. Joseph’s in Bryan
Ministry Background: In high school, I started getting involved in my parish youth group. I found my home in ministry and loved attending and staffing retreats. Entering my sophomore year of high school, I attended the Galveston-Houston Archdiocesan Youth Conference, and it changed my life. I encountered Christ in new ways, including Eucharistic adoration. Experiencing Christ in these ways inspired me and gave me a desire to serve Him. I got involved in my high school’s campus ministry, joined the archdiocese’s youth council, and became a youth minister intern at my home parish. I gained new, holy friendships that encouraged me to walk my life with Christ and leadership opportunities that helped develop my skills in ministry.
Since high school, I have staffed retreats, given talks, and led small groups for both high school and college students. I’ve seen, from a new perspective, the transformative graces youth encounter when receiving the love of Christ and discovering the Truth found in His Church.
Passions and interests: I like being outdoors, and I am a huge fan of camping, hammocking, and mountains. I also like artsy things, Spotify, coffee dates with friends, Disney, traveling, planning themed parties, and growing in my relationship with Jesus and Mary.
How did you become involved with Ablaze/why are you involved? Several of my friends are Ablaze missionaries, and, over the past couple of years, I’ve seen how much joy serving the Lord through Ablaze brings them. One day, a good friend of mine (who has no relation to Ablaze) told me, “I think the Lord wants you to be an Ablaze missionary.” So, I opened my heart and, to my surprise and excitement, the Lord immediately led me here.
