Hometown: Houston, Texas
Education:Graduate of Incarnate Word Academy in Houston, TX Class of 2017
Currently earning a BA in Religious Studies and English with a minor in Pastoral Ministry at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX.
Ministry Background: I first got involved in youth ministry at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Houston. I was a part of the CORE team for youth group as well as a member of the Archdiocesan Youth Council. I was fortunate enough to help plan the 2017 Archdiocesan Youth Conference! I got involved in campus ministry at IWA on the Campus Ministry Team leading retreats and helping with liturgy. After arriving at college, God called me to serve the UIW community as a Peer Minister Intern in the campus ministry office, and I am now the Young Adult Group Coordinator.
Passions and Interests: I’m a huge theology nerd who enjoys reading St. Athanasius and St. Augustine. If I’m not writing papers or reading, you can find me making French press coffee or at the local coffee shop. I’m an avid Fixer-Upper watcher and collect numerous coffee mugs. Farmers markets on Sunday’s and gardens bring me joy. I am very passionate about the family and applying the theology that I learn to Church and family life. I hope to one day have a family and raise children to be saints.
How did you become involved with Ablaze/Why are you involved? I first learned about Ablaze from Taylor Schroll, who is on the Ablaze team. He established our Breathe Young Adult group at UIW and put on a workshop for us. I then ran into him again at the 2019 SEEK conference in Indianapolis, Indiana and learned about the internship! As I was preparing for the summer and discerning the next steps in pursuing my vocation in ministry, the Ablaze internship kept coming up in prayer and I felt that God was calling me to serve with Ablaze in order to further learn how to love and care for his people. I’m very excited to work with Ablaze this summer and experience God’s love and who He’s calling me to be in an entirely new way!
