Ministry at Ablaze: Development Director
Ministry Background: I got my start in ministry during college. I worked two summers as a camp counselor at The Pines Catholic Camp, and served in various leadership positions for Aggie Awakening, and even met and served alongside my wife through the retreat ministry. After college, I joined the team at Ablaze Ministries where I served two years as a Missionary at St. Anthony’s and St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Bryan, TX. I then left Ablaze and spent two years away were I used my training from Ablaze to direct the Campus Ministry and Development Programs at the NSU Catholic Student Center in Louisiana. Now I work out of the National Office as the Development Director here at Ablaze.
Passions and interests: Jesus. My wife, Katharine Marie. My son, Benedict Ambose. Red Meat. Old Scotch. Craft Beer. Nature. Dry Humor.
How did you become involved with Ablaze/why are you involved? After two years away from Ablaze, I decided to return because I felt that my passions and skills were a perfect match for Ablaze, and that Ablaze’s vision was a perfect match for me. I knew that those living out the great commission the most authentically, was the team here at Ablaze, and if I was going to be sharing the good news of what is happening in the church today, I wanted to do it for an organization who is doing it well. During my time as a missionary here, I have seen the transformation that happens in the lives of the youth, volunteers, and even the staff, and I wanted to be a part of it.
Favorite quotes and Bible Verses:
Hold the line! Stay with me … what we do in life, echoes in eternity.
-Maximus, Gladiator 2000
The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.
The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom should I fear? The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom should I be afraid? When evildoers come at me to devour my flesh, These my enemies and foes themselves stumble and fall. Though an army encamp against me, my heart does not fear; Though a war be waged against me, even then do I trust.
