Education:Graduate from the University of North Texas with a B.A. in French and a minor in history.
Ministry Background: As a high schooler, I had my first taste of ministry serving in our youth ministry. Throughout all four years of high school, I filled multiple ministry roles – small group leader, middle school youth leader, retreat staff, and a choir student leader. Involvement in ministry and the community I found there helped form the solid foundation of my faith that would only be built up.
After entering college and becoming involved in our campus ministry, I truly fell deeply in love with the faith and knew that I wanted to give my life to Christ and His Church. I served at the UNT Campus Catholic Center through all four years of undergrad and became a student missionary with FOCUS on my campus. Each role I’ve played in ministry has been a new adventure and helped me grow closer to Christ. I’m overjoyed to be able to continue sharing my faith in serving with Ablaze as a youth minister!
Passions and Interests: My favorite part of my day is turning up my music in my car and singing as loudly as I want. My friends will tell you I talk a lot about podcasts, books, movies, superheroes, history, and food. I love coffee and spending time studying or reading at my local coffee shops. My recent study abroad adventures awakened my love for traveling and discovering new places – especially places that are connected to the faith.
How did you become involved with Ablaze/Why are you involved? I discovered Ablaze Ministries while browsing the ministry booths at the SEEK 2017 conference. At that point, I knew I wanted to work in some form of ministry after college. Christ allowed me to come to know Him through prayer, Sacraments, and community, so I felt compelled to share my faith with others and help them come to know Christ as I had. Discerning God’s mission for my life led me to Ablaze and my zeal for youth ministry was reawakened. Being a product of youth ministry myself, I understand the deep importance of evangelizing young people. Also, the faith shines in such a profoundly beautiful way when it is housed in the youth, so I am very excited to be living out the Great Commission (Mt 28:18-20) through this ministry!
