Ministry Background: During my freshman year of high school I received the Sacrament of Confirmation, which inspired me to take my faith seriously. I became involved with my parish youth group, high school campus ministry, and other service programs. I joined our youth council and started attending & leading retreats for high school students. Throughout the rest of my time in high school, I fell deeper in love with the Church and wanted to devote my life to serving her, so I went off to college to get proper formation. I studied theology and pastoral ministry. I got involved in campus ministry, assisting my former high school program and other local college and young adult events. During my time at the University of Dallas, I gave talks during many youth sessions, staffed camps, led retreats, and participated in Bible studies. I spent the summers working at The Pines Catholic Camp, helping children and staff grow in their faith. During the fall of 2015, I joined Good Shepherd Catholic Community as their Middle School Youth Ministry Intern. After all of this, my call to serve the Church in her areas of need has only strengthened. It brings me great joy and fulfillment to help the Church succeed.
Passions and interests: I am the proud father of a new baby girl, Eleanor, and the loving husband to my beautiful bride, Olivia. Many of my passions and interests revolve around spending quality time with my family and friends. This could mean hiking, camping, movies, cooking, and any other fun we can find. I also am active in sports, especially Ultimate Frisbee. Lastly, I’m constantly reading books about our faith. The more I learn, the more I fall in love with the beautiful Church that Christ founded.
How did you become involved with Ablaze/why are you involved? I first heard about Ablaze through friends who were missionaries, asking for support and sharing of the great things they were doing. I did not think much more about Ablaze until my wife got accepted into graduate school at Texas A&M. I searched for work in the area, while hoping to serve the Church, and once again, I found Ablaze. I looked into the position and vision and realized I should join.
